Our theme this year is taken from Colossians 1: 27-29. We will be studying this passage throughout the weekend, with the themes of our sessions taking from specific phrases in the scripture. Our inspiration came from the Message version of the Bible. Below you will find the NIV along with the message paraphrase.
Ask God to speak to you as you read, showing you what He is saying to you through His Word. We believe that each of you coming to the Getaway are there for a purpose. We are so excited to walk together as God reveals and teaches all of us about the glory of Christ in us.
ESV- Colossians 1:27-29
"27 To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. 28 Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ. 29 For this I toil, struggling with all his energy that he powerfully works within me."

"This mystery has been kept in the dark for a long time, but now it’s out in the open. God wanted everyone, not just Jews, to know this rich and glorious secret inside and out, regardless of their background, regardless of their religious standing. The mystery in a nutshell is just this: Christ is in you, so therefore you can look forward to sharing in God’s glory. It’s that simple. That is the substance of our Message. We preach Christ, warning people not to add to the Message. We teach in a spirit of profound common sense so that we can bring each person to maturity. To be mature is to be basic. Christ! No more, no less. That’s what I’m working so hard at day after day, year after year, doing my best with the energy God so generously gives me."
